The Silent Paintings is a space where colours carry stories that words sometimes cannot express. Through the paintings of working children, the exhibition invites visitors to pause, reflect, and listen to voices that are too often unheard.
Vernissage – Mötesplats i Sångvägen

The first vernissage of The Silent Paintings took place on 20 February 2026, on the International Day of Social Justice, at Mötesplatsen in Sångvägen, Järfälla.
During the evening, visitors gathered to encounter the children’s paintings—images that carry stories of life conditions, labour, and dreams. Through colours, shapes, and symbols, the artworks opened a quiet dialogue about children’s rights and social justice.
The exhibition remains open until 20 March and has already welcomed more than one hundred visitors. Guests are invited to explore a catalogue that provides context to the working children’s lives and artistic expressions, take part in conversations about children’s rights, and write messages to the young artists.
The exhibition offers a space for reflection, where art becomes a language for what often remains unspoken.
Vernissage – Huset på Höjden
The second vernissage was held on 21 February 2026 at Huset på Höjden in Järfälla. During the afternoon, the space was filled with families, children, and young people who gathered to experience the children’s paintings together.
The project leader, Raheleh Behzadi, introduced the background of the project and spoke about child labour in Iran and its connection to social vulnerability and human rights.

During the exhibition opening, visitors were invited to participate in conversations and reflections on the themes presented in the exhibition. Interviews with visitors were also conducted to gather their thoughts and responses.
For many, the encounter with the paintings has become a reminder of the power of art—to make hidden experiences visible, to evoke empathy, and to open spaces for dialogue about children’s rights.
