Dreams, Rights, and Resistance – 20 March at ABF

March 20, 2026

The latest exhibition of The Silent Paintings was held on 20 March at ABF, a cultural meeting place dedicated to learning, dialogue, and artistic expression. The exhibition showcased the creative work of children aged 7 to 17, featuring dreamcatchers and protest posters produced during a series of workshops.

These workshops aimed to strengthen creativity and social participation among children, recognizing them as an important group in society with their own dreams, voices, and rights. Through art, participants had a space to express their perspectives and envision their futures.

This exhibition also served as a meaningful bridge between children across borders. It connected the voices of children in Sweden with those of children in Iran, whose paintings had been exhibited earlier, starting on 20 February 2026 in Järfälla Municipality, Stockholm. Through this connection, the project created a shared space where children from different contexts could reflect, express, and stand alongside one another—despite differences in geography, language, and life conditions.

All children who took part in the workshops were warmly appreciated and received certificates in recognition of their creativity and engagement. In addition, the mothers who accompanied and supported their children throughout the process were also honored for their invaluable presence.

The exhibition highlighted not only the artistic talents of the participants but also the importance of nurturing young voices and building connections that transcend borders through art.
